Is the Continuous Glucose Monitoring-Integrated Insulin Pump the Ultimate Answer to Diabetes?

Insulin pumps, even when integrated with continuous glucose monitoring systems, are not a cure-all for the challenges of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The aspiration of millions of diabetics to enjoy carbohydrate-rich foods while relying on an automated insulin pump to maintain normal blood glucose levels is currently unattainable. Prudent diabetics understand that relying on miracles is not a viable approach. Instead, they conscientiously utilize the available tools to maintain stable and normal blood glucose levels and prevent diabetes complications. If feasible, using a continuous glucose monitoring system can be beneficial. Insulin pumps present a distinct situation. Apart from their high cost, these devices have more disadvantages than advantages. Therefore, it is not recommended for individuals with diabetes who follow a low-carbohydrate diet, including adults and children, to use them.
